Our dental treatments
Restorative Dental Treatments
Besides computer technology, dentistry is one of the most dynamically improving sciences of our days. As a result of this nowadays there is possibility to produce the topmost aesthetic dental crowns with the demand of their being long-term durable and also to replace some missing teeth.
What Is Aesthetic Dentistry?
Aesthetic dentistry is not a separate segment of dentistry, but it is a different kind of approach. During aesthetic dentistry the dentist does very similar restorations to natural teeth, paying attention to anatomical structures (tooth shapes, chewing surface) which are typical of natural teeth and the restoration of harmonic tooth colour. This requires the dentist a lot more time and the application of special techniques and the best quality dental materials.
What Is Cosmetic Dentistry?
Cosmetic dentistry is a further developed variant of aesthetic dentistry, during which the dentist does not only apply restorations matching the natural teeth, but also tries to restore or create the ideal, perfect smile according to the patient’s needs. It is often a series of treatments with several pre-planned steps with the aim of restoring the patient’s teeth in the most aesthetic way-most of the time getting rid of age specific features (colour, length, layers)-and in this way increasing the patient’s self confidence and strengthening his / her social position.
Treatments Available in our Surgery:
X-Rays
Panoramic X-Rays before the treatments are absolutely necessary. X-Rays provide information about anatomical features, the joints of the jaw, the sinuses and the nerves, the condition of the teeth and the gums, and also about the bone conditions before implantations. Before the placement of implants some additional operations, bone augmentation, autolog bone replacement etc. might be needed.
Panoramic X-Rays are also crucial when searching for source of infection.

Oral Surgery Treatments
Oral surgery treatments include the following: • Simple tooth extractions • Surgical or other removal of broken roots • Resection • Cyst operations • Surgical removal of wisdom teeth • Curettement of any teeth suffering from gum diseases (close or open) with periodontal operations • Open and close sinus lifts when bone augmentation is applied under the sinus membrane with different techniques increasing the height of the bone in the sinus to provide the necessary quantity of bones for the implants to be placed here.
Laser treatment is applied after the operations, therefore the operated area gets only slightly swollen, there is no pain, and the healing period is halved.

Conservational Dental Treatments
Are they aesthetic “fillings”? No, they aren’t, they are restorations!!!
Our basic treatment principle is that with a direct method (without any dental technician support) we only restore small enough cavities, where we don’t have to calculate on the shrinking of filling material, and with the help of the sectional system we can provide correct contact points and closure from the gum’s side. High aesthetic value is achieved by a layering and a specific coloring technique.

Aesthetic Tooth-Colored Restorations (Fillings)
Multi-layered, old, corroded amalgam fillings in the back molars might even be 10-15 years old most of the times. The silver content of the amalgam dissolves into the enamel of the teeth which therefore turn grey after a while.
Why are decays so common under amalgam fillings?
Amalgam has a feature that after a certain period of time the fillings don’t close properly, therefore the teeth start to be decayed underneath through the tiny holes on the edges of the amalgam fillings.
Function
With the sacrifice of minimal amount of the tooth the original anatomical shape is restored. A rough enough chewing surface is established, which makes chewing easy and the chewing organ is protected from overload.
Aesthetics
Our restorations come in several different colors so they perfectly match their surroundings.
Durability
Since the filling material and the tooth chemically stick together, fillings are extremely durable.

Root Canal Treatment
If the cavity is deep in the tooth, the bacteria can infect the interior of the tooth (pulp) and the tooth gets inflamed. In these cases the removal of the inflamed pulp, the removal of the ‘nerves of the tooth’ and root canal treatment might be necessary. The complexity and the cost of the treatment depends on how advanced the inflammation is, and also on the number of the root canals in the specific tooth.

Inlay / Onlay
Inlays and onlays can be made instead of any fillings (apart from fillings in the incisors), but they are mainly applied in cases when a major part of the tooth (one or more sides) is decayed or broken. Because of the physical nature of the porcelain they are much stronger, and much more aesthetic than any other fillings (inlay).
Inlays and onlays can be an alternative of crown (in certain cases) in case of a strongly destroyed tooth, but the advantage of them is that during the preparation of a crown the whole tooth is ground, in case of an inlay only the decayed parts of the tooth is removed with a drill and then an imprint is taken of the prepared cavity. The missing part of the tooth is made by the dental technician, and is stuck into the tooth with special glue (inlay).

Porcelain Veneers (5-7 days to be prepared)
This solution is mainly for incisors in order to get a durable and aesthetic solution for the restoration of decays, colorings, erosion, huge gaps among teeth, or irregular teeth position. A thin layer of the front surface of the tooth is ground, and an imprint is taken. The dental technician makes the veneer with the help of this imprint. The final result is very aesthetic since there is nothing underneath the porcelain and therefore its transparency is similar to the transparency of the enamel.
|
 |
Crowns (5-8 days to be prepared)
When the original shape of the tooth cannot be replaced any more with aesthetic fillings or inlays or onlays, the tooth is ground and covered with a crown. An imprint is taken of the prepared and ground tooth and with the help of this a porcelain crown is made by the dental technician.
|
 |
Bridges (5-12 days to be prepared)
Bridges are used in case of more missing teeth. During the process the teeth besides the missing ones are ground, and an imprint is taken. The bridge is made with the help of this in a dental technician laboratory, and then the bridge is stuck by the dentist with special glue on the tooth earlier prepared in the surgery.

Dental Implantation?
Dental implants are artificial roots to fix crowns, bridges or fake teeth. Implants can be placed instead of lost teeth and roots and after the healing period and the prosthesis they are almost fully able to take their function and aesthetics. They improve chewing and speaking, they provide the feeling of comfort and also they change the aesthetic of the face in a positive way.
What are the advantages of implantation?
• There’s no need to put crowns on healthy teeth in order to substitute missing teeth
• In case of molars partial, removable dentures can be avoided and it remarkably increases the feeling of comfort
• In case of the entire loss of teeth the moving of the denture with limited stability can be avoided or with the proper number of implants fixed dentures (not removable) can be made.
• The loss of bones after the loss of teeth can be avoided
• Removable prosthetics which are associated with old age by many can be avoided.
• It helps to make and maintain social relationships because of the comfort provided by it during speaking and chewing..

Removable denture (prosthesis)
If we loose a part of our teeth, and we are lucky they can be replaced with fixed dentures and bridge or bridges. This method is better but more expensive than removable dentures.
If we want to have our partial missing teeth replaced cheaply we have to have a removable, partial denture made by our dentist. If all our teeth are missing, we have to have a removable top denture with a pallet and full bottom denture made. If the patient’s jawbone is not very atrophied and his/her anatomical features are suitable, even with a top and bottom denture and only by spending little money on it, well functioning dentures can be made.
A lot of people find it hard or even cannot get used to having a top denture with full pallet.
Why is it so?
• Because the denture covers a part of the area of the pallet which is responsible for tastes.
• The rare end of the denture is very near to the pharynx which could make the patient puke.
• In case of bad anatomical structures, the top denture can be instable during eating and speaking so this is the reason why it is difficult to get used to it.
What about the bottom denture?
Bottom dentures can be very unstable because the eroded jaw cannot fix them so during speaking and eating it can leave the mouth. In this case implantation could be the solution to fix the dentures. Although it is more expensive, it can dramatically increase life standard.

Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a “blissful” possibility of our days to make our teeth whiter and nicer without destroying them in any ways. Teeth do not need to be ground like in case of veneers or crowns. Teeth can be made nicer without an invasive method, without sacrificing the teeth themselves. Tooth whitening can be done at home (it is cheaper but it takes longer, 2-3 weeks) or in the surgery (it is more expensive but it only takes about an hour).

Sealants
In case of healthy teeth both for children and adults a sealant can be applied on the teeth to protect them from decays. Teeth are dried then a special material is placed on their surface, and a special polish is applied on the chewing surface with a brush. After this teeth are lit with a UV light for 10 seconds. The sealant sticks on the surface of the teeth and protects them from further decays.

Tooth Jewellery
A thousand years ago, for people in the Maya culture the aesthetic appearance of their teeth had a great importance. Their front teeth were decorated with colorful nefrit stones. The idea of the tooth jewellery of our days must be coming from there.
Try it and make your smile nicer!

Dental Hygienic Treatments
Nowadays it’s impossible not to have a dental hygienist in a modern dental surgery, who prepares patient’s teeth for the dentist.
Dental technicians are responsible for the following:
• Preparation of patients and the cleaning of their teeth from tartar and nicotine layers • Teaching patients to achieve and maintain the necessary dental hygienic • Choosing the appropriate toothbrush • Teaching teeth cleaning techniques • Teaching how to use dental floss • Teaching how to use interdental tooth brushes • Teaching how to use tongue brushes • How to use mouthwash • Carrying out certain tooth whitening processes • Making case studies
Removal of Tartar
Tartar is calcium and magnesium precipitated from the saliva. Most often it is on surface of the front bottom teeth from the tongue’s side and the outer surface of tooth 6 and 7. (The reason is that the exit of the big saliva glands can be found here.) The colour of the tartar is originally white or egg white but it can be influenced by the colourings which can be found in food. Cigarettes or pipes can even make the tartar black. If it is present at a great volume it can cause damage to the gums, bacteria can settle on its surface which can lead to inflammation and bleeding. Removing the tartar with ultra sound is recommended every 3-6-12 months depending on the patient’s individual features and needs. Finer, hand tools and sandblaster are applied to remove smaller tartar which is at places which are difficult to reach. After removing the tartar the surface of the teeth are made smooth and shiny with polishing them with fluoride paste. Sometimes 2-3 occasions are necessary to remove tartar and get the desired outcome. Removing the tartar is done by our highly qualified dental hygienist who after the treatment will give you some necessary oral hygienic advice so as to keep your smile brilliant for a long term.
